Capture in the field
An inspector connects an Insta360 X3 over its own Wi-Fi and captures one 360 interior photo with the measuring rod in frame. Records and images are saved on the phone, so a basin with no cell signal is still a finished inspection.
Measure and screen
Sediment depth is entered against the sump depth on file. SumpScout shows percent full and a configurable cleaning recommendation. When a depth is unknown or the rod cannot be read, the record says undetermined rather than inventing a number.
Review and export
Once back in signal, records and photos sync. Supervisors review the evidence, pan around the 360 image, and export CSV or a printable summary into the asset system the municipality already uses.
A screening tool, not a cleaning policy
The cleaning recommendation is a configurable threshold applied to a measured depth. It is meant to help a crew prioritise, and it does not replace the municipality's own maintenance standards. Every record keeps the threshold that was in force when the reading was taken, so an old report still says what it said at the time.
